HUSTLE LIFE

THE FIVE MOST INSPIRING MUMPRENEURS YOU NEED TO BE FOLLOWING

So I’m sure almost everyone here has some form of social media, right? Most likely one or two that you find yourself gravitating towards more than the others. For me, that’s Instagram. Even though we all know spending too much time on social media isn’t good for us for so many reasons it’s a hard habit to break. So there’s nothing like seeing some successful, inspiring women lighting up our screens to give us a kick up the bum and maybe even a little motivation to stop passively scrolling and start doing!

For me, one of the things I struggle with on a daily basis is juggling raising a strong-willed toddler, running a household and still having enough time and creative energy to pursue all of the ideas floating around in my mind. That’s why I thought it was time to round up a list of my top five women who manage to smash their business goals while raising beautiful children as well.

Without further ado, in no particular order:

Zoe Föster Blake @zotheysay

Happy Mum's Day! Mums are so incredible. But how do you know if you're a mum? It’s so hard! Were you gifted a terribly made piece of jewellery, clunky ornament, or new unicorn eraser today? You might be a mum! Did your dinner consist of leftover cheesy pasta from a brightly coloured plate? You might be a mum! Got food/paint/spew/shit on your person that isn’t yours? You might be a mum! Do look at your body with pride because it created life, but also wonder why your nipples insist on staring at your feet all day? You might be a mum! Did you spend today doing something indulgent like 'sleeping in' or 'having breakfast you didn't make' even though you used to do that twice a week? You might be a mum! Did you wear activewear as Proper Clothing more than three times this week? You might be an Instagram model! Or a mum! Do you sometimes hear a small child crying out for you at 2am and wonder what would happen if you didn’t go? You might be a mum! Do you sometimes wonder how you will get through the next 2, 5, 10, 20, 40 years with those little tyrants? You might be a mum! Do you love your children with an intensity that is, quite frankly, terrifying? Like, single-handedly flip a friggen 4WD car to save them, love them? You might be a mum! Are you an oval fleshy fruit which is purple, reddish, or yellow when ripe and contains a flattish pointed stone? You might be a plum! (Still good.)

As well as being hilarious and raising two adorable kids Zoe was the beauty editor of Cosmopolitan magazine, is an author of multiple novels and has released a successful skincare brand. On top of this, just to show that she’s got a big heart, she is also an ambassador for the Australian Orangutan Project to raise awareness for the endangered species. Follow her for down to earth parenting with a side of smashing all of the business goals.

Revie Jane Schulz @reviejane

I’ve been following this gorgeous Mumma for a couple of years now and absolutely love how raw she keeps everything. She has one beautiful daughter, Lexi, and is pregnant with another lucky lady at the moment. She juggles looking after her beautiful family and running her own strength and conditioning gym, Train Fitness, with her partner Clay. Revie is so genuine and open and isn’t afraid to let all of her followers know how difficult the juggle can be, which always leaves me feeling like I’m not alone. Knowing that even this superwoman has struggled at times is reassuring to all of us mere mortals.

Sophie Guidolin @sophie_guidolin

So other than the fact that Sophie has had four beautiful children (including twins!) and still has the most ridiculously fit body I’ve ever seen, she is an absolute force to be reckoned with. This entrepreneurial mother has released recipe books, a fitness program, manages to find time to blog and is also a professional bikini figure competitor. One of the reasons I love following Sophie is that she is always such a good reminder that it’s important to take time for yourself as well. It’s not selfish, and is the perfect reminder of the old saying “you can’t pour from an empty cup”.

Even though Leah isn’t as well known as everyone else on this list, she owns a few different kick-ass brands that I absolutely love! If you’re Australian you’ve probably heard of both LaBang Body and Indigo Flame Soy Candles. Well, meet the owner of both of these amazing brands! Not to mention a couple of others that she has under her belt as well. Leah has absolutely nailed her branding and is a champion of affiliate marketing. Plus I just love seeing other mothers that are able to juggle completely separate businesses as well as raising their children. Goals!

Sophia Cachia @sophiecachia_

Who’s going to win the race between Bob & I?! 🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♀️👀 This Sunday, I’ll be again walking with my family in @standupeventsmelbourne @moveinmay because I believe in equality + inclusion for ALL, regardless of sexuality and/or gender and I’m asking YOU to join us! This is the largest public community event of this scale that supports and celebrates IDAHOBIT, and I think that’s pretty damn awesome. I’ll also be wearing these ‘Equality Leggings’ by @teamjaggad who will be donating a whopping $55 from every pair sold to the cause. Grab yours and join me and my babies for a boogie around the Tan (because yes, there’s music and entertainment from start to finish and it’s fucking fabulous) for CGU’s Move in May. Sunday 20th 10am-2.30pm. $35, 13&under free. Head to www.standupevents.com.au ❤️🌈🍭💃🏻🕺🏻 So proud of you girl @gagagreene

Ok, so even though I’ve been following @SophieCachia for a while she was never really one of my favourites until very recently. I initially found her confidence kind of off-putting, which I’ve since acknowledged is due to my own insecurities. BUT since I’ve listened to her speak on a podcast recently my mind has been completely changed! Now I absolutely love how confident she is and think it’s a lesson that I could definitely take from her. She’s got strengths and she absolutely owns them, which is fantastic. She originally started her blog as a tool to channel all of her feelings about being a young mother and has accumulated a large dedicated following. I believe this is entirely due to her genuine nature. She has taken advantage of all the opportunities this has provided and has also developed other business ventures, so good for her!

So all of these wonderful ladies are smashing their professional lives while raising families and keeping it real. They’re perfect to provide a little extra motivation and a reality check that it is possible to hit those goals.

If you’ve got any other incredible women I should follow I would love for you to leave a comment below and let me know!
